South Salem Saxons Boys Soccer 0-1 Sunset

Sunset handed South Salem a 1-0 defeat in boys soccer Saturday, handing the Saxons their first loss on home turf in a non-league contest played in Salem, Oregon. South Salem competes in the 6A-6 Central Valley Conference, and while this result will not affect their conference standing, it still stings heading into the final stretch of the fall season. The Saxons entered the match at 10-4 overall and fell to 10-5 on the season after absorbing the shutout loss. Their conference record remains 8-2. Sunset's lone goal proved to be all the visitors needed, as South Salem's offense could not find an answer on the afternoon. Despite the setback, the Saxons have built a strong foundation this fall with double-digit wins and a solid conference mark. South Salem will look to regroup and close out the season on a positive note as the postseason picture comes into focus in the coming weeks.
