South Salem Saxons Boys Soccer 2-0 McNary

South Salem's boys soccer team came away with a clean sheet Monday, downing McNary 2-0 on the road in a Central Valley Conference (6A) matchup. The Saxons, representing Salem, Oregon, picked up a road victory that carries real weight in the league standings heading into the final stretch of the regular season. The shutout was a strong statement from South Salem's defense, which didn't allow McNary a single goal on their home pitch. With the win, the Saxons improve to 7-4 overall and 5-2 in conference play, putting them in solid position in the CVC standings. After entering the night at 6-4, South Salem needed a result like this to stay in the thick of the postseason conversation. A road shutout against a league opponent checks multiple boxes at once. The Saxons will look to carry that defensive intensity and momentum forward as they close out the regular season with conference games still on the schedule.
