North Salem Vikings Boys Soccer 0-4 South Salem

South Salem handed North Salem a 4-0 defeat Thursday night in a Central Valley Conference (6A) boys soccer matchup played in Salem, Oregon, dropping the Vikings to 3-6-3 overall and 2-4 in league play. The crosstown rivalry offered little comfort for North Salem, which was shut out on the road against a Saxons side that controlled the match from start to finish. The four-goal margin leaves the Vikings searching for answers on both ends of the field as the conference schedule tightens heading into the final weeks of the fall season. North Salem entered the night at 3-5-3 and will need to regroup quickly if it hopes to finish the league slate on a positive note. The Vikings return to action in the coming days with an opportunity to right the ship and build some momentum before the postseason picture comes into full focus. Every remaining conference game carries added weight at this stage of the year.
