North Salem Vikings Boys Soccer 1-3 West Salem

West Salem handed North Salem a 3-1 defeat in Central Valley Conference (6A) boys soccer Monday evening in Salem, Oregon, tightening the Vikings' grip on a difficult stretch of league play. The loss drops North Salem to 3-5-3 overall and 2-3 in conference, leaving the Vikings with limited margin for error as the postseason window narrows. Playing on the road against a rival Titan squad that controlled much of the match, North Salem found the net once but could not generate enough sustained pressure to slow West Salem's three-goal output. Road matches against division opponents carry extra weight this late in the season, and Monday's result makes each remaining conference fixture essentially a must-win situation for the Vikings. North Salem will need a strong collective effort defensively and more finishing quality going forward to keep its postseason hopes alive. The Vikings return to action later this week, looking to respond with a bounce-back performance and begin climbing back up the conference standings.
