West Salem Titans Girls Soccer 0-1 Sprague

A single goal was all it took, as Sprague defeated West Salem 1-0 in a Central Valley Conference (6A) girls soccer match played Monday evening in Salem, Oregon. The Titans were unable to find an answer for the lone Sprague tally, falling to 2-8 overall and 2-4 in league play. West Salem came in looking for a spark after a difficult stretch of conference competition, but a tight, low-scoring affair ultimately went the way of the visiting Olympians. Without a detailed box score, the margin tells much of the story. One goal separated two teams battling in the back half of the CVC schedule, and West Salem could not generate the equalizer despite playing on home turf. The Titans will need to regroup quickly as the league season winds down and opportunities to improve their conference standing grow scarcer. West Salem's next match will be a chance to respond and show what this group is capable of when the pressure is on.
