North Salem Vikings Football 14-42 Sprague

Sprague handed North Salem a 42-14 defeat Thursday night in a Central Valley Conference (6A) football matchup played at Sprague High School, leaving the Vikings from Salem, Oregon searching for answers midway through the fall schedule. The Olympians controlled the game from early on, building a commanding lead that the Vikings were unable to overcome despite a pair of touchdown efforts that showed some life on offense. The loss drops North Salem to 1-5 overall and 0-2 in league play, a difficult position as the conference slate intensifies in the weeks ahead. Sprague's ability to move the ball consistently and limit North Salem's opportunities proved to be the difference on a tough road night for the Vikings. The coaching staff will look to correct those issues in practice this week and find ways to generate momentum before the next conference test. North Salem returns to action next week with an opportunity to respond and begin climbing back into the league picture.
