McKay Royal Scots Softball 3-22 North Salem

North Salem's offense exploded for 22 runs as McKay softball suffered a tough 22-3 non-league defeat on the road Monday afternoon. The Vikings faced an uphill battle from early in the contest as the Wildcats built a commanding lead and never looked back.
Despite the lopsided final score, McKay managed to plate three runs against North Salem's pitching staff, showing flashes of offensive capability. The Vikings have had their struggles this spring but continue to compete in each outing.
With the loss, McKay moves to 1-10 overall this season while maintaining a 1-1 conference record. The non-league nature of Monday's game means it won't impact the Vikings' standing in conference play, where they've shown they can compete at a higher level.
McKay will look to regroup and refocus on the fundamentals as they prepare for their next opportunity. The Vikings have shown improvement in conference competition and will aim to build on that success moving forward. Coach and players will use this experience as motivation to tighten up all aspects of their game.
