Central Panthers Girls Volleyball 2-0 North Salem

Central's girls volleyball team swept North Salem 2-0 on Saturday evening to open the 2026 fall season on a winning note. The Panthers, competing out of Independence, Oregon, in the Mid-Willamette Conference (5A), claimed the non-league victory in front of their home crowd, setting an early tone for what they hope will be a strong campaign. The two-set sweep signaled a focused and disciplined effort from the Panthers in their very first outing together, holding North Salem without a set win across the match. Opening-night performances often carry as much psychological weight as statistical value, and Central's ability to close out both sets cleanly gives the program a confident foundation heading into conference play. The Panthers now stand at 1-0 on the young season. Central will look to carry that momentum forward as the schedule grows more demanding in the weeks ahead.
