Central Panthers Boys Soccer 2-2 Taft

Central came away from Taft with a 2-2 draw Tuesday in a 4A-3 Oregon West Conference boys soccer match, splitting the points on the road and giving the Independence, Oregon, program a result it can build on late in the season. The final whistle left both sides level after what appeared to be an evenly contested affair, with Central matching Taft goal for goal to secure the tie. The result moves Central to 3-7-1 overall and 1-4 in conference play. It is not the position the program hoped to be in at this stage of the fall, but earning a point on the road against a league opponent carries some value heading into the final stretch. Central will look to carry the momentum of this result into upcoming play and close the 2026 campaign on a stronger note. The schedule does not ease up, but Tuesday showed the group can compete and grind out results when it matters.
