Central Panthers Girls Soccer 2-2 Taft

Central's girls soccer team picked up its first point of the 2026 fall season Tuesday night, battling visiting Taft to a 2-2 draw in 4A-3 Oregon West Conference play at home in Independence, Oregon. The Panthers found the net twice to match Taft's pair of goals, closing out the evening without a winner on either side. The result moves Central to 0-11-1 overall and 0-7 in league play. While the Panthers have yet to record a win this season, Tuesday's draw showed an ability to compete and respond when challenged, a meaningful step for a young program working to build momentum late in the fall. Taft, a program from Lincoln City, made the trip south on a league night and left without the victory. Central will look to carry the competitive edge from this result into its next match as the regular season winds toward a close.
