South Salem Saxons Football 41-46 West Salem

West Salem handed South Salem a 46-41 defeat in a high-scoring league football game Friday night in Salem, Oregon, leaving the Saxons with a tough pill to swallow after a competitive battle at home. South Salem entered the contest at 7-1 on the season, riding strong momentum, but West Salem proved to be the sharper team when it mattered most, pulling away for a five-point victory in what was clearly an offensive showcase from both sides. The loss drops the Saxons to 7-2 overall and 2-2 in conference play, a record that still reflects a solid season but signals tighter competition ahead in the league standings. Giving up 46 points at home is never easy to digest, and South Salem will need to shore up its defensive execution moving forward. The Saxons have time to respond and still control part of their postseason destiny. Their next opportunity to get back on track will be a key one as the regular season winds down.
