Stayton Eagles Girls Volleyball 3-0 Newport

Stayton's volleyball team rolled to a clean sweep Thursday night, defeating Newport 3-0 in Oregon West Conference (4A) play at home in Stayton, Oregon. The Eagles improved to 10-2 overall and a spotless 3-0 in league play with the victory, strengthening their standing near the top of the conference standings. Facing a Newport squad that made the trip across the Coast Range, Stayton controlled the match from start to finish, taking all three sets without surrendering a lead. The sweep reflects a team that has built genuine momentum through the early stages of league competition, having now won four of its last five matches overall. With no detailed statistics available, the scoreline tells the story clearly enough. A 3-0 result in conference play speaks to depth, serve consistency, and defensive discipline, all qualities Stayton has leaned on through its strong start. The Eagles return to action next week with a chance to push deeper into the conference schedule and keep their unbeaten league record intact.
