Stayton Eagles Girls Soccer 8-0 Central

Eight goals and a clean sheet told the story Thursday as Stayton girls soccer rolled past Central 8-0 in an Oregon West Conference (4A) league match played in Stayton, Oregon. The Eagles dominated from start to finish, giving the home crowd plenty to celebrate on a mid-October evening. The shutout victory moves Stayton to 8-2-1 overall and 6-1 in conference play, keeping the Eagles firmly in the thick of the Oregon West title race with the regular season winding down. Central had no answer for Stayton's attack, and the defense held firm throughout, recording its clean sheet in dominant fashion. The margin of victory reflects a team that is hitting its stride at the right time of year, with league positioning growing more critical by the week. Stayton will look to carry this momentum into its next Oregon West matchup and continue its push toward a postseason berth as the final weeks of the fall schedule approach.
