Stayton Eagles Boys Soccer 2-1 Cascade

A second-half finish proved to be the difference Thursday as Stayton boys soccer held off Cascade 2-1 in a 4A-3 Oregon West Conference contest at home in Stayton, Oregon. The Eagles improved to 12-1 overall and 8-1 in league play with the hard-fought victory, keeping their conference title hopes very much alive down the stretch of the fall season. Cascade made things interesting, cutting the deficit to one before Stayton's defense buckled down and preserved the slim margin through the final whistle. The one-goal win was a reminder that tight league matches require focus from start to finish, and the Eagles showed they have the composure to handle that pressure. With just a handful of regular-season contests remaining, Stayton sits in strong position to compete for a conference crown and earn a favorable postseason seed. The Eagles return to action next week with another key league matchup on the schedule.
