Stayton Eagles Boys Soccer 2-0 Newport

Stayton kept its perfect record intact Thursday night, shutting out Newport 2-0 in an Oregon West Conference (4A) boys soccer road match in Newport. The Eagles from Stayton, Oregon, improved to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in league play with the clean-sheet victory, strengthening their grip on one of the top spots in the OWC standings. Earning a shutout on the road is never easy, and the Eagles' defense rose to the challenge against the Cubs, limiting Newport to no goals on their home pitch. The two-goal margin gave Stayton plenty of breathing room and reflected a composed, disciplined performance from start to finish. With the unbeaten streak now at seven matches, the Eagles are building the kind of momentum that draws attention across the conference. Stayton will look to carry that energy forward as league play intensifies in the coming weeks, with every result now carrying added weight in the OWC standings race.
