West Salem Titans Football 14-31 Sprague

Sprague defeated West Salem 31-14 on Friday night at West Salem High School in Salem, Oregon, handing the Titans their first Central Valley Conference (6A) loss of the season in football. The Bulldogs controlled the game's tempo and built a lead the home side could not overcome, limiting West Salem to two scores in the contest. The loss drops the Titans to 1-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play as they search for answers heading into the heart of their league schedule. West Salem's offense showed flashes but could not sustain momentum against a Sprague defense that kept the game out of reach in the second half. The Titans will need to shore up both sides of the ball if they hope to remain competitive in a challenging CVC field. West Salem looks ahead to next week, when another conference matchup will offer the team an opportunity to bounce back and begin building toward the postseason.
