Sprague Olympians Girls Soccer 1-2 South Salem

South Salem edged Sprague 2-1 in a girls soccer league matchup Thursday evening, handing the Olympians a tough road loss in Salem, Oregon, within the 6A-6 Central Valley Conference standings. The Cougars controlled enough of the contest on their home pitch to secure the narrow victory, leaving Sprague to absorb a result that drops the program to 6-7-1 overall and 6-3 in conference play. Despite the loss, Sprague found the back of the net to make it a competitive affair, and the one-goal margin reflects how closely contested the match was throughout. Cross-town rivalry games carry extra weight in any season, and Thursday's result was no exception, with both sides pushing hard for the full 80 minutes. The Olympians will need to regroup quickly and focus on the stretch run of the regular season. Every remaining conference game carries postseason implications, and Sprague will look to bounce back and secure its footing in the league table heading toward the playoffs.
