WHome · Salem

A single run made all the difference as Sprague baseball outlasted McNary 7-6 in a back-and-forth league battle at home Tuesday afternoon. The narrow victory showcased the competitive balance that has defined both programs this spring, with neither team able to pull away decisively. Sprague's offense managed to stay one step ahead throughout the contest, building enough cushion to withstand McNary's late pressure. The win moves the Olympians to 8-5 overall and 2-2 in conference play, keeping them squarely in the mix for league positioning as the regular season winds down. McNary fought until the final out, making Sprague earn every bit of the victory in what proved to be one of the more entertaining games of the year between these Mid-Willamette Valley rivals. With the league race still taking shape, Tuesday's result could prove significant when playoff seeding is determined. Sprague will look to build momentum from this clutch performance as they head into the final stretch of conference play.
