South Salem Saxons Softball 7-12 Sprague
South Salem softball couldn't keep pace with Sprague's offensive surge Thursday evening, falling 12-7 in a high-scoring league matchup on the road. The Saxons managed seven runs but couldn't contain the Olympians' attack in what became a back-and-forth affair.
Despite the loss, South Salem showed they could generate offense against quality league competition. The seven runs marked one of their better offensive outputs of the season, suggesting the bats may be coming alive at an important time.
The defeat drops South Salem to 3-11 overall and 0-5 in conference play as they continue working through a challenging spring campaign. While the scoreboard didn't favor the Saxons, the ability to put runs on the board against a league opponent provides something to build upon.
South Salem will look to bounce back and capture their first league victory when they return to action next week. The team continues to battle and show improvement as the season progresses into its final stretch.
