South Salem Saxons Softball 12-0 North Salem
The Saxons delivered their most complete performance of the spring, shutting out crosstown rival North Salem 12-0 in Thursday's non-league softball matchup at home. South Salem's offense exploded for a dozen runs while the pitching staff blanked the Vikings in what became a statement victory for the program.
The comprehensive win showcased South Salem's potential when all phases of the game come together. After struggling through much of the early season, the Saxons found their rhythm against North Salem, combining timely hitting with strong defensive play to control the game from start to finish.
The shutout victory improved South Salem's overall record to 3-10 as they continue working through a challenging campaign. While their conference record stands at 0-4, Thursday's dominant performance against their Salem counterparts could provide the momentum needed for a strong finish to the season.
The Saxons will look to build on this breakthrough performance as they head into the final stretch of the spring schedule, hoping to carry this offensive explosion into their remaining games.
