Salem Academy Crusaders Softball 14-12 St. Paul

A wild offensive showcase at St. Paul turned into a memorable victory for Salem Academy's softball team Tuesday afternoon. The Crusaders from Salem, Oregon, who compete in the PacWest Conference (3A), survived a back-and-forth battle to defeat St. Paul 14-12 in non-league action.

Both teams combined for 26 runs in what became a pitcher's nightmare and a hitter's dream. Salem Academy built leads throughout the contest but had to fend off multiple St. Paul rallies in the high-scoring affair.

The victory moves Salem Academy to 10-12 overall and 5-10 in conference play as the regular season winds down. After struggling through much of the spring campaign, the Crusaders showed their offensive potential in the season's final weeks.

Salem Academy's ability to generate runs consistently gave them the edge in Tuesday's shootout, though St. Paul kept pace until the final innings. The Crusaders will look to build momentum from this offensive explosion as they prepare for their remaining games and potential postseason opportunities.
