McNary Celtics Football 13-16 North Salem

North Salem edged McNary 16-13 in a tight Central Valley Conference (6A) football game Friday night, handing the Celtics a road loss in Salem. The Celtics, based in Keizer, Oregon, dropped their second conference game of the season in a matchup that stayed competitive until the final whistle. McNary trailed by just three points, and the narrow margin speaks to how hard the Celtics competed despite the result. North Salem was able to make enough plays late to secure the win and move ahead in the league standings. McNary falls to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in conference play with the loss. The Celtics have faced a challenging stretch this fall, but a three-point road game against a division rival shows there is fight left in this group. McNary will look to regroup during the week and build on the competitive effort as the back half of the regular season continues.
