McNary Celtics Boys Soccer 2-2 North Salem

A hard-fought boys soccer match in Salem ended in a 2-2 draw Monday night, as McNary traveled across the Willamette River to face crosstown rival North Salem in Central Valley Conference (6A) play. The Celtics, based in Keizer, Oregon, picked up a league point in a competitive road environment against the Vikings.

McNary found the net twice to earn the tie, matching North Salem goal for goal in a match that neither side could ultimately put away. Without a detailed box score available, the specifics of the scoring remain unclear, but the result showed resilience from a Celtics squad that refused to concede a loss in a rivalry setting.

The tie moves McNary to 0-7-3 overall and 0-4 in conference play this season. Points in league matches are hard to come by, and earning a draw on the road against a familiar opponent carries value heading down the stretch of the fall schedule.

McNary will look to build on this momentum in upcoming CVC action.
