Stayton Eagles Softball 4-10 Cascade
The Stayton Eagles couldn't keep pace with Cascade in their league softball opener Thursday, falling 10-4 on the road. The Eagles managed four runs against the Cougars but struggled to contain Cascade's offensive attack throughout the contest.
Stayton showed fight at the plate, putting together rallies that produced four runs, but defensive miscues and timely hitting by Cascade proved costly. The Cougars built momentum early and maintained control for most of the game.
The loss drops the Eagles to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play as they continue working to find their rhythm in the early portion of the season. Despite the challenging start, the Eagles have shown glimpses of potential that suggest better days ahead.
Stayton will look to regroup and capture their first victory when they return to action. The Eagles need to tighten up defensively and continue building chemistry at the plate as league play intensifies. Every game remains an opportunity to turn the corner and establish momentum for the remainder of the spring campaign.
