Central Panthers Softball 4-5 Cascade
A single run proved the difference as Central fell 5-4 to Cascade in a hard-fought non-league softball battle Monday afternoon on the road. The Panthers came tantalizingly close to their first victory of the spring but couldn't quite finish the job against a scrappy Cascade squad.
Central showed significant improvement from their early season struggles, keeping pace with the home team throughout a back-and-forth contest that featured multiple lead changes. The Panthers' offense found more rhythm than in previous outings, putting together quality at-bats and manufacturing runs when opportunities presented themselves.
Despite the narrow defeat, there were plenty of positives for Central to build upon as they continue searching for that elusive first win. The competitive nature of Monday's game suggests the Panthers are trending in the right direction after a challenging start to the season.
Central, now 0-4 overall, will look to carry the momentum from their improved performance into their next outing as they continue working toward breaking into the win column.
