Silverton Foxes Softball 10-21 Central Catholic
Central Catholic's offense proved too much for Silverton in Friday's softball season opener, as the Rams fell 21-10 at home in their first non-league contest of 2026.
The visiting team jumped out to an early advantage and never looked back, consistently finding ways to plate runs throughout the game. While Silverton managed to put 10 runs on the board in response, Central Catholic's potent lineup kept answering back with multiple scoring rallies.
The loss drops the Foxes to 0-1 to start the spring campaign, but there were positive signs in the team's ability to generate offense against quality competition. Central Catholic has traditionally fielded strong softball programs, making this a challenging but valuable early-season test.
With the season just beginning, Silverton will have plenty of opportunities to build on the offensive production shown in Friday's contest. The Foxes will look to even their record when they return to action next week, using the lessons learned from this high-scoring affair to prepare for upcoming league play.
