Blanchet Catholic School Cavaliers Softball 3-18 Country Christian / North Clackamas Christian
The bats stayed quiet for Blanchet Catholic as the Cavaliers dropped an 18-3 decision to Country Christian in their softball home opener Saturday afternoon. The visiting squad jumped out early and never looked back, building a commanding lead that proved insurmountable for the Cavaliers.
Blanchet Catholic managed just three runs against a Country Christian pitching staff that kept runners off the basepaths for most of the afternoon. Meanwhile, the Cavaliers' defense struggled to contain an explosive Country Christian offense that piled on 18 runs throughout the contest.
The loss drops Blanchet Catholic to 0-3 on the young season as the team continues to search for its first victory. While the early results haven't gone their way, the Cavaliers have plenty of softball left to turn things around in what promises to be a competitive spring campaign.
Blanchet Catholic will look to bounce back when they return to action later this week, hoping to find the offensive rhythm that has eluded them through their first three games.
