Silverton Foxes Boys Soccer 1-3 South Eugene

South Eugene handed Silverton a 3-1 defeat in boys soccer Tuesday evening, handing the Foxes their third loss of the season. The game was played at home in Silverton, Oregon, where the Mid-Willamette Conference (5A) program dropped to an even 3-3 on the year with the non-league setback. The Axe, a perennial force out of the Class 6A Midwestern League, came into Silverton and controlled enough of the contest to pull away with the two-goal victory. Silverton found the net once, showing some offensive life, but the defense was unable to contain South Eugene's attack over the full 80 minutes. The loss stings, particularly at home, but the Foxes can take something from the fact that they competed against a larger-school opponent. Silverton will now shift focus back to Mid-Willamette Conference play, where every result carries standings weight. The Foxes will look to bounce back and get back on the winning side of the ledger in their next outing.
